The European Society of Pathology (ESP) and the Swiss Society of Pathology (SGPath) are now giving everyone a warm welcome to join the 34th European Congress of Pathology (ECP 2022).

The international European pathology gathers all stakeholders of pathology to encompass the broad range of modern pathology.

2022 Motto

The motto for the ECP 2022 is The Art of Next-Generation Pathology. The conference will include next-generation technologies as well as the next generation of pathologists but also points to the intuition and passion necessary in pathology as part of the Art of Medicine for the best management and maximal benefit for our patients.

Scientific Contents

The Congresses of the ESP are 5-day annual international pathology congresses. The congress aims to provide an up-to-date scientific programme covering all major areas of diagnostic, translational, molecular and investigative pathology. Special emphasis will be put on both the recent discoveries and the reinforcement of close clinical-pathological cooperation.

There will be keynote lectures held by internationally recognised experts, oral free papers, posters as well as sessions organised by the trainees will cover a broad range of topics related to Pathology.

Expected educational outcome(s)

  • Familiarity with all histological and molecular approaches that are essential, according to current evidence, in the management of diseases.
  • Confidence in managing patients with identified neoplastic and non-neoplastic disorders, according to the existing evidence, by pathological procedures.
  • Identify major pitfalls and possible solutions in the diagnosis of certain clinical situations.
  • Discuss and integrate the most up-to-date knowledge and recent research findings in the field of human pathology.
  • Identify opportunities for scientific collaborations worldwide.

Guidelines to prepare Extracts

  • choose a title that indicates the content of the contribution.
  • avoid abbreviations in the title
  • make sure to use the proper English language.
  • also, do not spell abstract titles and co-authors’ names in capital letters.
  • should add the degrees, titles, street addresses as well as acknowledgements of support in the abstract title and text.
  • do not use the same e-mail address for several co-authors. This will result in the wrong authors’ listing within Virchows Archiv.
  • In addition, do not add tables and graphs to your abstract.
  • do not copy your abstract text from any word-processing programme document file.

Guidelines to Submit Extracts

  • you can submit a maximum of 5 abstracts per author.
  • abstract that has been previously published cannot be submitted, unless there are new methods, findings, updated data or other acceptable reasons for submitting.
  • Abstracts should be in English not exceeding 290 words and be structured in the following specified subtitles: background & objective, methods, results and conclusion.
  • also, stick to the indicated maximum amount of words in each section
  • Authors need to select whether they are submitting a Case Report, a Case Report Series or Original Research.
  • Changes in authorship should be communicated to the Congress and Exhibition Office. Furthermore, you can submit changes until the submission deadline.
  • Registration and payment to congress are mandatory to be able to present the abstract and publish it in the abstract book.
  • Notification of acceptance or rejection by the Scientific Committee will be emailed to the submitting author along with other details.

Fee

All the fees are to be paid through cards or online transactions in EUR currency.

Furthermore, there will be no refund after May 24, 2022. If you apply for the refund before the date, there will be a deduction of EUR 75 as a refund service charge. Nevertheless, if your abstract was rejected, you not be charged for refund service charge.
