Position: Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering

Marshall University 

Marshall University is a public research university in Huntington, West Virginia. The university’s digital forensics program is the first program in the world to receive accreditation in digital forensics from the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). Position summary

Marshall University is seeking Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering. The position is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level, anticipated hiring date August 2020. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. In particular, the position holder will perform the following duties along with the reporting  to the chair of the Division,

  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses (lecture and laboratory).
  • Also, supervise master’s theses and undergraduate projects.
  • Pursue scholarly activities (including research in the field, writing and managing grant proposals, and preparing peer-reviewed publications).
  • Engage in academic mentoring as well as assist in program assessment and execution of a continuous improvement plan.
  • Furthermore, participate in professional service, activities, and organizations.

Requirements

In order to be eligible for the position, the candidate must have the following qualifications

  •  Ph.D. in Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related Engineering field. In addition to that, research record and course work that matches their area(s) of interest.
  • Strong commitment to teaching as well as advising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels with a primary emphasis on undergraduate engineering education.
  • Capable of integrating their area(s) of expertise into our curriculum through core/elective courses and laboratories.
  • Similarly, must have an interdisciplinary mindset and work well in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Also, must be able to communicate effectively.
