Position summary

The College of Natural and Health Sciences at Arkansas Tech invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in Health Informatics. The department consists of 23 faculty and 3 adjuncts delivering biology, biology-biomedical, environmental science, fisheries and wildlife science, medical laboratory science, nuclear medicine technology, health information management, and health informatics programs as well as science education for teacher licensure.

In particular, the appointee will be doing the following specifications under the Department of Health Informatics

  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in HIM and HI totaling 12 credit hours per semester.
  • Engage students in high impact learning practices as well as mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Develop undergraduate/graduate research program that includes publishing in the appropriate refereed outlets.
  • Furthermore, provide impactful departmental, college, university, and professional service.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications

  • A doctoral qualification in Health Science, Information Science, and any relevant discipline.
  • In addition to that, demonstrated commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching and research in the areas of health informatics and health information management.
  • Experience with the command of academic discipline and teaching pedagogy. Similarly, strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication and skills.
