The college provides education under three academic schools: School of Education, School of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Professional Studies.

About Position

Peru State College is seeking an Instructor/Assistant Professor to teach Business and Economics under the School of Professional Studies. In general, the incumbent will be assisting higher level students with course curriculum with a focus on Business Administration and Economics.

In particular, the successful appointee will perform the following tasks

  • Teaching a 12-hour load per semester of onsite, online, blended and hybrid undergraduate courses in economics and other business administration courses as assigned.
  • Advice as well as mentor students in relation to academic techniques. Similarly, provide service to the College and actively participate in campus life on the main campus in Peru, NE;
  • Demonstrate active professional development and contribution to the academic discipline. Also, pursue continuous improvement of instructional practices;
  • In addition to that, implement student engagement practices in and outside the traditional learning space.
  • Furthermore, work effectively with a diverse student population. Generally,  many of whom are first-generation college students.

Skills and qualifications

  • Masters degree in Economics, as well as 18 hours of graduate economics coursework, is mandatory.
  • In addition to that, interest and enthusiastic about teaching and engaging in student success assessments.
  • Prior experience in teaching will be an asset.
