Position: Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Concord University is a public university in Athens, West Virginia, United States of America. It is known for its picturesque campus which has been dubbed “The Campus Beautiful” and its scenic location on a knoll overlooking the mountains in the area.

About position

Concord University of West Virginia is seeking a non-tenure track professor to teach introductory classes in mathematics, with some upper-level courses. In particular, the successful appointee will be doing following duties under the faculty of Mathematics

  • Design and facilitate learning experiences that enable student success and achieve student learning outcomes. Similarly, develop expectations and assess student learning outcomes.
  • Effectively teach a wide range of subjects as qualified and assigned.
  • Participate in the development of curricula as well as maintain an active creative agenda or scholarship.
  • Provide Academic advising and counseling to students.
  • Participate in program assessment activities. Similarly, participate in departmental and college service, including admissions events
  • Furthermore, other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Mathematics. In addition to that, a minimum of two years of experience teaching Mathematics.
  • Strong enthusiasm in teaching higher level students.
  • Excellent organization as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Similarly, excellent communication skills (oral and written).
