The School of Education at North Dakota State University opens the vacancy of Assistant Professor of Practice, Counselor Education.

Position Description

The incumbent will join the department and serve as a core faculty member in the master’s and doctoral counselor education and supervision programs. The ideal appointee will possess strong professional experience in any specialty of counselor education to complement to contribute to advancing the dynamic counselor education programs. The position will also inspire and challenge students so they may meet the evolving demands of professional counselors.

In addition to that, the Assistant Professor will contribute to a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and foster a collaborative community built upon shared governance across the School of Education. Furthermore, the position holder will be responsible for the supervision programs and coordinate the NDSU Counseling Services clinic.

Requirements 

Candidates must have the following qualifications to apply for this Assistant Professor Vacancy at North Dakota State University

  • Earned doctorate in counselor education and supervision or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution at the time of employment.
  • Current professional counseling license (LPC) and LPC license-eligible in the state of North Dakota at the time of employment.
  • Two years of clinical employment; beyond practica and internships and in clinical mental health counseling.
  • In addition to that, understanding of multicultural and advocacy issues, and the needs of underserved populations.
  • Also, effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Graduate of a CACREP-accredited doctoral program preferred. Similarly, licensed as an LPCC in the state of North Dakota is desirable.
  • Furthermore, the ability to effectively interact and collaborate with diverse colleagues, students, clientele, and the public.
