The Department of Art & Art History at Rollins College invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Art with a specialization in 3D foundations and sculpture, beginning August 2020. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal. The department is requesting a tenure-track position for the academic year 2021-22. The successful candidate will have an established art practice with expertise in integrating traditional craft skills with contemporary methods. Preference will be given to candidates with a broad pedagogical and scholarly approach to sculptural practice with proficiency in both classical forms and digital fabrication (CNC and 3D printing)


The interested candidates must have the following qualifications for the job of Visiting Assistant Professor

  • They must have an M.F.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in sculpture or related field.
  • Additionally, they must have the ability to teach 3D foundations and beginning sculpture including basic techniques in wood and metal fabrication as well as digital 3D methods. Additional expertise in contemporary sculptural and craft processes including installation and textile-based practices preferred.
  • Also, they must demonstrable experience with contemporary practice and theory in digital and manual integration in the field of sculpture and 3D art practices.
  • Furthermore, the candidates must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
