Position: Clinical Assistant Professor for Cellular Immunotherapy

About University of Basel

About position

The University of Basel is accepting applications for Clinical Assistant Professor Non-Tenure Track for Cellular Immunotherapy. Basically, the incumbent will operate in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Basel and the University Hospital Basel.

The successful appointee will do the following functions

  • Develop and lead a research laboratory in the Departments of Biomedicine and Clinical Research.
  • Part-time clinical duties in the Department of Medical Oncology at the University Hospital of Basel.
  • Establish a visible clinical and translational research program in the field of cellular immunotherapy of solid tumors. Similarly, be responsible for implementation and conduct corresponding clinical studies at the University Hospital Basel.
  • In addition to that, acquisition of third-party funds, and the active participation in teaching in the Faculty of Medicine.

Requirements

  • Specialist (physician) in medical oncology (or equivalent qualification). In addition to that, excellent scientific publications and internationally recognized research in the field of tumor immunology and immunotherapy
  • Habilitation or equivalent qualification and successful acquisition of competitive research grants.
  • Experience in translating basic oncology research into clinical application and in the management of clinical trials, ability to ensure patient-oriented action.
  • Similarly, initiative and willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation within the university and faculty priorities in the Life Sciences of the University of Basel.
  • Visionary thinking, enthusiasm, and ability to integrate.
  • Also, leadership experience and commitment to ensure successful interdisciplinary/-professional collaborations
  • Commitment to teaching and training in medical and translational oncology
