The University of Wyoming Whitney School of Nursing and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center opens a vacancy position for the Clinical Assistant Professor. The incumbent will perform the following duties at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center

  • Professional practice at CRMC with a focus on EBP with the expectation of dissemination of that work.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the partnership between CRMC and UW.
  • Academic/career advising for CRMC nurses in the UW nursing programs.
  • Liaison between Cheyenne community members, CRMC staff, and UW FWWSON programs; including Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science (MS), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
  • Facilitating FWWSON student placement experiences at CRMC. Similarly, facilitating EBP throughout CRMC in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Teaching EBP to and facilitate EBP projects for CRMC nurses in the CRMC Nurse Residency Program as well as acting as a resource for the acquisition of evidence-based resources, articles, and journals.
  • Furthermore, tracking progress towards aims, including educational and patient care outcomes, related to the partnership.

Additional duties 

The Clinical Assistant Professor will perform the following duties at the University of Wyoming

  • Teaching classes to undergraduate and/or graduate nursing students and also student advising of undergraduate and/or graduate nursing students.
  • Research and creative activities to enhance the use of EBP by nurses as well as cooperative Extension and outreach to nurses in Wyoming.
  • Serve on FWWSON, College of Health Sciences, and UW committees as appropriate.
  • Furthermore, administrative responsibilities to coordinate a partnership between FWWSON and CRMC.

Requirements 

Interested candidates must have the following qualifications

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree OR Ph.D. in Nursing OR Master of Science in Nursing with a Ph.D. in an applicable field (maybe actively working toward one or the other).
  • In addition to that, an unencumbered RN license in Wyoming or the ability to obtain one.
  • Two years of nursing practice as well as experience with EBP.
  • Similarly, one year of teaching experience in clinical, online, and/or classroom settings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and, administration as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to working in a culturally diverse environment and the ability to effectively work with students, employees, vendors, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
