Coordinator for Student Conduct and Carolina Judicial Council position is available at the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support at University of South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

The Coordinator of Student Conduct adjudicates alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct and the Honor Code. Also, s/he oversees the advising and training of the Carolina Judicial Council (CJC). The Coordinator provides initial and on-going training for student, faculty, and staff members of the CJC. Moreover, s/he provides consultation and coordination of the student CJC members’ outreach and educational efforts to the campus community. S/he designs the training curriculum for CJC and tracks case resolution trends. Additionally, s/he develops assessments and makes recommendations based on learning outcomes for refinements to the training.

The Coordinator is responsible for the annual Title IX training for hearing panelists and coordinates the logistics of those hearings. Furthermore, the Coordinator will also be responsible promoting responsible citizenship and integrity and adherence to the Carolinian Creed and in working to expand the role of the CJC in these efforts. Under general supervision, s/he has independent discretion as well as decision making authority in the student conduct process and his/her decisions or recommendations in this capacity are routinely implemented. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Student Conduct.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Masters degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop and implement realistic solutions.
  • Above all, able to analyze information and quantitative data, and apply that which is relevant in a positive and productive manner.
  • Keep updated with topical issues regarding academic integrity and student conduct administration.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Preferred

  • Experience in adjudicating student conduct and academic integrity cases.
  • Similarly, experience with the Maxient electronic database.
  • Experience presenting to large groups.
  • In addition, ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Likewise, experience with developing and assessing learning outcomes.
