The Educational Technology Coordinator is responsible for executing and coordinating the technical aspects of lecture capture, editing and publishing for related GUMC programs.  The incumbent supports faculty and staff in the use of academic teaching tools (software and hardware), works to address the pedagogical implications of teaching in hybrid and blended programs and support faculty and staff in the use of online course management systems. The incumbent will explore new teaching technology and facilitate the acquisition and use of educational technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture/editing/publishing/troubleshooting/archiving/retrieval of lecture captures for Downtown section of SMP use, as well as use in related programs
  • Support and training of faculty in educational technology necessary for delivery of programs listed above.
  • Work with individual faculty or faculty groups to produce specific educational material
  • Assist Special Master’s Program faculty and staff and Office of Medical Education staff in various activities
  • Maintain hardware and software necessary for performance of task above.
  • Prepare orders for necessary supplies and maintain licenses and access agreements.
  • Coordinate activities and events related to special programs including scheduling of meetings, room reservation, coordinating a/v.
  • Perform research and testing related to program development.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least one to three years of work experience
  • Experience in the use of MAC OS and Windows operating system, learning management system (Canvas or Blackboard), Microsoft Office, and other commonly used office and educational software
  • Ability to adapt to a fluid work environment with changing schedules and deadlines is a must
  • Experience with lecture capture, video capture and editing, audience response technology and similar educational technologies is a plus. Work experience in an educational environment is preferred
