Faculty Position at Middle Tennessee State University

The Department of Engineering Technology is seeking qualified candidates to appoint as Tenure Track position at the rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor. The position will start by August 2020.

Responsibilities

The incumbent Faculty Position will perform the following duties at the Department of Engineering Technology in Middle Tennessee State University

• Develop and teach graduate/undergraduate courses (lecture and laboratory) in digital systems design, microcontrollers, robotics, mechatronic systems, automation & controls, LAN, and also other related subjects.
• Supervise graduate/undergraduate research and capstone design projects.  However, preferred research areas include microcontroller applications, autonomous systems, robotics, advanced mechatronic systems, and automation & control.
• Pursue scholarly activities including the development of an externally funded research program as well as publishing peer-reviewed journal articles.
• Engage in academic mentoring. Similalry, engage the local industry through outreach events, on-campus career fairs, professional meetings, etc.
• Assist in program assessments and the execution of the department’s continuous improvement plan.
• Furthermore, participate in appropriate professional services, activities, organizations and/or public service.

Requirements 

In order to be eligible for this Engineering Faculty Position at Middle Tennessee State University, candidates must have

• Have a terminal degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a closely related area by appointment date.
• Relevant industrial experience and an established teaching preferred. Moreover, research record at the college level will receive special consideration.
