The vacant position of Full Stack Developer at the University of Luxembourg is the wonderful news for computational data engineers who are looking for data science-related jobs in Luxembourg.

About the position

The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) is looking for a full stack developer with a special interest in building a new data-driven open access journal in digital history focusing on transmedia storytelling. The position holder needs to coordinate and work with a group of historians, a designer and a technical team of seasoned developers from diverse backgrounds. Along with your team, need to contribute to create a backend that supports the creation and storage of media-rich publications, organizes the authoring and review process in an online environment and supports interfacing with current and future repositories for data and code (e.g. GitHub, GitLab, EUDAT etc.) as well as long term storage.

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement the backend of the new journal for digital history
  • Follow an iterative approach that includes participatory design principles to engage users and stakeholders throughout the project
  • Design the overall system architecture of the new journal platform in cooperation with the DRI unit at the C²DH
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team at the C2DH in an independent and proactive way

Qualifications and Requirements

  • experience in the development of complex web applications
  • University degree in computer science, software engineering or in related disciplines
  • Desirable are 3+ years of experience with modern OOP languages such as Python, Node.js, Javascript
  • Working knowledge of Scrum/AGILE will be an advantage
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate methodological, organized, pragmatic and effective approaches to your work
  • Fluency in English. knowledge of French and/or German will be an asset
