The College of Natural and Health Sciences at Arkansas Tech University invites applicants to join the Department of Nursing as the departmental head.

Duties 

The departmental head of Nursing will perform the following duties  at the College of Natural and Health Sciences at Arkansas Tech University

• Develop, teach, and assess undergraduate and graduate courses as well as engage students in high-impact learning practices.
• Effectively advise/mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Develop a sustainable scholarship program including seeking external funds to support the program.
• Provide impactful departmental, college, university, and professional service to the university, community, and state.
• Oversee annual faculty and staff evaluations as well as faculty promotion and tenure processes.
• Develop and approve course schedules including clinical rotations and make faculty assignments.
• Leadership and management for the department and all Nursing programs.

Requirements

Candidates must have the following qualifications in order to apply for departmental Head of Nursing at Arkansas Tech University

• MSN, MNSc, or MS in Nursing as well as a doctorate in nursing or closely related field.
• Must hold an Arkansas nursing license (or eligible to obtain one). In addition to that, experience in a U.S. medical center in nursing.
• Accomplishments and experience appropriate for appointment as Associate or Full Professor within the Department of Nursing.
• Experience in an academic leadership role such as program director/coordinator, or equivalent experience.
