Position: Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor – Nursing

Position summary

The University of Houston College of Nursing at Sugar Land is seeking dynamic and highly-qualified to appoint in the rank of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing. The anticipated start date for a qualified applicant for a 9-month Clinical non-tenure-track, benefits-eligible faculty position begins as early as August 2020 and will continue until the position is filled.

Basically, the responsibilities include ongoing curriculum development and evaluation; classroom and clinical instruction in the undergraduate and graduate programs using on-site, simulation, on-line, and distance education strategies; some travel; participation in college and university committees; engage in scholarship, service and academic advising.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications

  • Doctorate in nursing or related field required. Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • In addition to that, a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills. Teaching experience is also required.
  • Published peer-reviewed articles as well as national certification in clinical specialty area required.
  • Furthermore, candidate must possess an unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Texas.
