Position: Team Leader (Chief Operation Officer) of International Research Grants

Position summary 

The Chief Operation Officer will be liable for the University’s budget and financial performance, and the management of its property and capital.  In addition to that, s/he will also deliver efficient and effective shared services in support of all aspects of the University’s business.

The position holder will also plan and oversees workflow, task completion, and relationship management with the goal of supporting the University’s strategy to grow international research. S/he will have to work with internal and external stakeholders to balance the requirements of international sponsors with University policy and Australian best practice.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Expert knowledge of international grant funding programs.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing members of a team.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a changing and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills are required to complete key tasks day to day in grants management, as well as project tasks in agreed timeframes.
  • Similarly, strong problem-solving skills and be passionate about supporting research, continuous improvement and innovation with a proven record of influencing and engaging others with your leadership skills.
