Position summary

A private liberal arts college in Adrian, Michigan is seeking Assistant Professor in the Department of English. The position holder will be in office from January 2020 to do the following functions

• Teach a variety of writing courses in the English curriculum, serving not only undergraduate English majors
  and minors, but also K-12 English Language Arts teacher education students, and students across all
  disciplines.
• Create course syllabi, develop instructional materials, and also contribute to developing an innovative English
  curriculum.
• Participate in professional development as appropriate to the discipline, including publication, conferences,
  and other professional development activities, as well as provide service to the department and institution.
• Furthermore, advise students as well as perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications

• Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Composition, Literacy Studies, or related field. In addition to that, demonstrated ability to teach a variety of undergraduate writing courses.
• Evidence of ability to develop new courses to suit changing 21st-century literacy needs.
