Position: Assistant Director of MBA Admissions

About Chapman University

Chapman University is a private university in Orange, California. Altogether, Chapman University offers 110 areas of study (49 majors and 61 minors), and encompasses ten schools and colleges: Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Argyros School of Business and Economics, the School of Communication, Schmid College of Science and Technology, College of Performing Arts, Dale E. Fowler School of Law, College of Educational Studies, the School of Pharmacy and the Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences.

About role

The position holder will help the university in seeking prospective Professional MBA candidates and represent the school at MBArecruitment fairs and events. In particular, the incumbent will do the following duties from the position

  • Creates an outbound recruitment strategy to identify and develop new Flex/Professional MBA candidates.
  • Provides consultative services to prospective students regarding all details of the Professional MBA program including application, matriculation, course overviews, program requirements, academic policies, and procedures.
  • Similarly, provides academic advising to current Professional MBA students including course selection and schedule.
  • Schedules/hosts official application interviews with each candidate; makes recommendations as part of the admissions selection committee.
  • Represents the Argyros School and Professional MBA program at local and global recruitment fairs.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director and Assistant Dean to address recruitment issues and opportunities while developing comprehensive strategies to achieve annual target enrollment goals.
  • Refines and hosts information sessions for prospects and yield events for admitted applicants.
  • Supports the development and utilization of recruiting management system; especially to build a strong communication flow for prospective and matriculated students.
  • Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with other business schools and universities.
  • Also, provides expertise on recruitment strategies to marketing team; supports the coordination and development of print and digital marketing materials; oversees and maintains Professional MBA program, marketing and recruiting information on the Argyros School of Business & Economics website.
  • Furthermore, complete other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

In order to be fit for the position, the candidate must have the following

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition to that, experience with higher education recruitment and admissions; preferably for MBA programs.
  • Working knowledge of student career and academic advising principles, methods and procedures.
  • Experience working with digital recruitment and marketing strategies. Also, experience developing, implementing and using CRM systems.
  • Able to develop, plan and achieve short and long-range goals as well as confident to quickly understand/interpret and apply guidelines and procedures consistently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to evaluate data, assess alternatives and make appropriate decisions/recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written especially for presentations.
  • Demonstrates tact and diplomacy, maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to supervise and manage student employees or volunteers. Similarly, strong organizational, time management and project management skills.
  • Motivated to work independently but able to thrive and contribute in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experienced working in a professional environment with strong Microsoft Office skills.
