Position: Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering

About Eastern New Mexico University

Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU or Eastern) is a public university in Portales, New Mexico. In overall, ENMU is New Mexico’s largest regional comprehensive university and is the most recent state university in New Mexico. However, it is a federal Hispanic-serving institution and a member of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities. The university consists of 5 colleges on three campuses. ENMU’s main campus is in Portales and there are also two degree-granting branches, one at Ruidoso and one Roswell.

About position

The Department of Mathematical Sciences is seeking qualified candidates to teach as a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Electronic Engineering Technology (Ph.D. qualified). Also, the department will consider a full-time non-tenure-track instructor in Electronic Engineering Technology (Masters qualified). However, the new appointee will start their office in January 2020.

Key duties

  • In general, duties include teaching a broad range of undergraduate Electronic Engineering Technology courses including laboratories. Altogether, the normal teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester.
  • Maintain appropriate service as well as engage in scholarly activities.
  • Guide and assist in research activities.
  • Furthermore, perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Tenure track: A Ph.D. (ABD will be considerable) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field to be as a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Electronic Engineering Technology.   Teaching experience and a background in renewable energy are preferred.
  • Non-Tenure track: A Masters in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy to be as a full-time non-tenure-track instructor of Electronic Engineering Technology.
