Position: Assistant Professor of Intelligence and Information Operations

About the University of Arizona

The University of Arizona is a public research university in Tucson, Arizona. It is the first university in the state of Arizona. In overall, the university offers hundreds of degree program under the 19 academic faculties. As of 2017, the current enrollment of the University of Arizona is 44,831. Furthermore, the 2018 Times Higher Education World University Rankings rated the University of Arizona 161st in the world and the 2017/18 QS World University Rankings ranked it 230th.  The University of Arizona is one of the elected members of the Association of American Universities. And also it is the only representative from the state of Arizona to this group.

Key duties

In particular, the Assistant Professor will do the following duties

  • Maintain a workload typical for NTE faculty within the College of Applied Science & Technology defined as 80% related to teaching and 20% related to service.
  • Teach undergraduate courses at multiple sites using a variety of formats including face-to-face, online, and interactive video/TV platforms.
  • Similarly, teaching responsibilities include traditional course delivery, seminars, independent studies, as well as creation and revision of course content.
  • Contribute to the service responsibilities of the College of Applied Science & Technology and the University of Arizona in part through participation on committees and student mentoring, including those from underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Contribute to the College of Applied Science & Technology and the University of Arizona’s development through appropriate outreach to local communities (including governmental units, businesses, nonprofits organizations, and community residents).
  • Assist in the development of innovative approaches to enhancing student engagements. Also, assist in increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners.
  • Furthermore, perform other additional duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

In order to be fit for the position, the candidate must have the following qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Intelligence Studies, Information Warfare, National Security Studies, International Relations, Strategic Studies, Political Science with a related emphasis, Cyber Threat Intelligence, or closely related field. However, Ph.D. holder preferred.
  • Knowledge of Intelligence Operations, Information Operations, and National Security Strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Intelligence or Information Operations professional is desirable.
