Position: Professor of Epidemiology at the College of Medicine

Position summary

The Division of Epidemiology at the College of Medicine is looking for two vibrant and dynamic professors to join the teaching team. The Professor will establish an independent, externally funded research program, participate in graduate (Ph.D., MS, MPH program) and post-doctoral training, and will also provide service at the Departmental, College and/or University level.

The Department of Environmental Health at the UC College of Medicine conducts world-renowned research in environmental and public health, occupational safety and health, and molecular genetics. Altogether, it has 40 full-time faculty and 200 graduate students across 6 divisions (Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, Environmental Genetics, and Molecular Toxicology, Environmental and Industrial Hygiene, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Public Health Sciences)

Requirements

The candidate with the following qualifications will be eligible for the role

  • Doctoral degree in a clinical or academic area (MD, Ph.D., DrPH, etc.) from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research evidenced by a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to that, track record or a demonstrated potential for sustained research funding.
  • Candidates for a tenured appointment should demonstrate intellectual leadership and impact on the field.
  • Similarly, candidates must show potential for significant contributions to the Department, University of Cincinnati, and the wider scholarly community.
  • Demonstrated evidence of effective teaching, commitment to student success, and service to the profession.
  • Excellent written as well as oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with the subject matter.
  • Outstanding writing skills to present research in written format.
  • Furthermore, s/he must have the ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
