Position: Assistant Profesor of Psychology

Position summary

The Department of Psychology at the University of New Mexico invites qualified Psychology professional to join the faculty team. The individual will have to undertake the responsibilities of Assistant Professor in Psychology. Generally, the incumbent will teach  Evolutionary Psychology to graduate and undergraduate students. The Department particularly calls for the candidate who can complement existing areas of strength and research interests within the department, including (but not limited to) individual differences, physiology and neurobiology, developmental processes, psychopathology, and human sexuality.

Furthermore, the position holder will be doing other things like participating in researches, supervising as well as advising students, etc. In addition to that, Assistant Professor also might need to take initiatives for researches and attracting funds for research projects.

Minimum qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology, In addition to that, demonstrated interest in Evolutionary Psychology.

Preferred qualifications

• Teaching and mentoring excellence, experience in designing and teaching courses at the undergraduate, graduate levels.
•  An Established record of peer-reviewed publications.
• Research fit, as evidenced by publications and ongoing research in content areas that complement those already present in our department. Also, research funding, a track record of external funding or potential for external funding.
• Departmental fit, as evidenced by a strong record in teaching or research that creates opportunities for collaboration with other faculty in the Psychology Department and on-campus.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
