Position: Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting

About position 

The Busines School of the university is seeking highly qualified accountant to teach courses under the Department of Accounting. The position is a tenure-track appointment. Basically, the position holder will be responsible for teaching accounting subjects and fundamentals to higher level students. Other than this, the associate or assistant professor might also need to do other few additional duties like research, advising, administrative duties and so on.

In particular, the duties might include but not limited to

  • Teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and master degree (MAcc and MBA) levels in Financial Accounting and at least one additional area from Accounting Information Systems, Auditing, Managerial Accounting, Tax, or Accounting for Governmental and Nonprofit Organizations.
  • Advising students on different matters like study, assignments, researches, and so on.
  •  Commitment to scholarship and service commensurate with AACSB accreditation.
  • Furthermore, completing any additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

In order to be eligible for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting at Washburn University, the candidate must have

  • Doctoral degree in Accounting. ABDs will be considered if substantial progress has been made toward completion of the dissertation.
  • Teaching experience. In addition to that, a Certified Public Accountant or a CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) credential preferred.
