Position: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Political Economy under the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences – Department of Political Science

The university has seven academic faculties: Humanities, Social and Behavioural Sciences, Economics and Business,  Science, Law, Medicine, and Dentistry. However, in 2018 and 2019 the two departments of Media and Communication were commonly standing at 1st rank in the world by subject by QS Ranking.

Roles and responsibilities

In particular, an incumbent should perform the following contributions throughout the research project

  • Conducting research within the framework of the above-described project.
  • Similarly, publishing the results of the research as a working paper on the project website as well as in high-quality academic outlets;
  • Contributing to the organizational aspects of the project and to knowledge valorization activities, in particular with the organization of the final conference.
  • Helping Ph.D. students in the project with theoretical and practical guidance where necessary.
  • In addition, presenting (intermediate) research results at workshops and conferences.
  • Furthermore, complete other tasks as assigned by the respective authority.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications

  • Doctoral thesis in political science, communication science, sociology, or another field with clear relevance to the research project;
  • Command of the requisite research methods. Also, an ongoing program of research and publications focused on international peer-reviewed journals and/or books published by internationally recognized academic presses.
  • Evidence of affinity with the topic and approach of the research project as a whole.
