About position

The University is Virginia is seeking a dynamic and prominent postdoctoral research associate to work on the research project under the Biology Department. The incumbent will join Dr. Graham Casey’s laboratory within the Center for Public Health Genomics at the University of Virginia, USA.

In particular, s/he will study genes and pathways involved in normal colon stem cell dysregulation in the early stages of colorectal cancer development. However, the long-term goal of these studies is to develop novel surveillance and prevention methods for colorectal cancer.

Requirements

In order to be eligible for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree or equivalent training in Molecular Biology, Molecular Genomics or a related field. In addition to a degree, the candidate must have demonstrated expertise in molecular biology and/or molecular genomics.
  • Excellent peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations records.
  • Strong communication (both oral as well written) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively. Furthermore, additional computational biology skills are also preferred.
