Position Title: Assistant Professor of Accounting

About the University of Kansas

About role

The University of Kansas Business School is seeking a qualified Accountant to undertake the responsibility of Account Professor in the university. This full-time tenure-track or tenured will be beginning on August 18, 2020.

In particular, the incumbent will be performing the following functions

  • 40% – Teach required and elective courses in the undergraduate, MBA, MACC, and doctoral programs within the area of Accounting.  Moreover, normal teaching responsibilities are four sections each academic year. Reduced/consolidated teaching opportunities are available at various ranks.
  • 40% – Conduct and publish research on accounting topics in leading academic journals.
  • 20% – Engage in school, university, and professional service activities as needed.

Requirements

The candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications in order to be fit for the position

  • Ph.D. or D.B.A. in accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability or the potential to conduct high-quality research and also publish in top tier journals.
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence in accounting.
  • Also, demonstrated excellent scholarship (or potential for excellent scholarship) as shown through publications and working papers.
  • Furthermore, a demonstrated record of effective teaching in the area of accounting at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
