About position

The Department of Biological Engineering at Utah State University is seeking qualified Assistant Professor of Biomedical. In particular, the tenure-track will be performing the following duties

  • Conduct research and other scholarly activities, including the pursuit of a strong externally funded research program.
  • Effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses as well as mentor students in research activities. Also, commitment to department, university and community service.
  • In addition to that, other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in biological engineering or related engineering discipline from a prominent and accredited university.
  • Evidence of established or emerging research stream(s) with potential for extramural support and publication.
  • Record of success or potential for effective teaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Record of strong peer-reviewed publications in an emerging technical field of interest to the department, such as bioinformatics.
  • Record of success or potential in obtaining external funding.
  • Potential to collaborate with existing BE faculty on externally funded projects.
  • Post-doctoral or relevant industrial experience.
