Description

The Career Academy program at Aims Community College is a Career and Technical Education (CTE), certificate-based program for high school students in a variety of pathways. The Career Academy Coordinator oversees our Career Academy program and supports additional CTE-focused concurrent enrollment offerings in local high schools.

Duties

The incumbent will have the following duties

Coordinating Career Academy Program

  • Process all Career Academy student applications, registrations, and grades reports. Collect and report data to internal departments, external partners, and school counselors.
  • Similarly, support the onboarding of students from application to completion of the Career Academy program. Likewise, host student and parent information and orientation events and maintain communication with students through the duration of the program. Also provide additional supports for students who may be struggling academically while in the Career Academy program.

Maintaining Career Academy Program Information

  • Communicate with departments to ensure adequate pathway marketing materials are on hand and work with schools to ensure counselors, administrators, and students understand the Career Academy Options.
  • Likewise, maintain and update Career Academy course information handbook.

Support High School Programs Office

  • Collaborate with other members of the High School Programs office to support initiatives, strategic tactics, or any other tasks that contribute to the goals of the overall division.
  • Furthermore, work closely with the Director of High School Programs on CTE-focused concurrent enrollment offerings in high schools.

Qualifications for Project Coordinator Position

The candidate must meet he following requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, or Business Management, Plus
2. Furthermore, one (1) year experience in Secondary Education or
3. Likewise, one (1) year experience in Business and Industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s Degree in related field., (Business Administration, Business Management, Education)
2. Ability to speak Spanish fluently.
3. Also, understanding of learning centered practices
4. Experience working in academic advising.
5. Likewise, excellent customer service skills.
