Job summary

The Department of Psychology at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) is seeking dynamic and prominent Psychologist to involve in the academic activities at the department. The position holder will teach organizational psychology or any other related subjects under the Department of Psychology. Basically, the candidate will teach two graduate-level courses per year and one to two undergraduate courses most semesters. A typical semester course load consists of one graduate course, one small undergraduate section (35 students or fewer), and one moderately sized undergraduate section (between 30 and 70 students)

In addition to that, the incumbent will support graduate education in the department’s long-standing and well-regarded terminal Masters of Science degree programs in Industrial-Organizational Psychology (I-O) and Research Psychology. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to develop a research program and possess strength in a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and statistical analysis techniques (including, but not limited to HLM, SEM, text and content analysis, and meta-analysis).

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following requirements

  • Ph.D. in I-O Psychology or closely related field. Individuals who are “all but dissertation” (ABD) will be considered; however, the degree must be awarded by August 1, 2020.
  • Evidence of experience and strong teaching ability in the area associated with the position. Similarly, evidence of an active research program that lends itself to collaboration with UTC colleagues and students.
  • Evidence of commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education. In particular, faculty are seeking candidates who have already to or have plans to contribute to, programs that aim to increase the participation of underrepresented students and/or faculty in the sciences.
