About Masaryk University

Masaryk University is the second largest and one of the prestigious universities in the Czech Republic. The University offers numbers of graduate and undergraduate degrees in the nine academic faculties. The university has maintained its position within the world best 600 universities for years 2016-2018.  Amongst all universities in the EU-countries joined the EU since 2004, Masaryk University was ranked at 7th. In overall, there are over 35,000 students at the Masaryk University. In addition to that,  University together with other institutions of higher education participates in CEITEC – a research center for both basic and applied research in the field of life sciences. Also, the university owns and operates the Mendel Polar Station in Antarctica. The station facilitates basic biological, geological and climatological research.

Key duties

In particular, the Research and Development Manager will do the following specifications at the university

• Design of soft skills and transferable skills course portfolio for researchers at all career reflecting the needs of the CEITEC scientific community.
• Organization and delivery of courses and workshops supporting the professional development of CEITEC researchers at all career levels. Similarly, the organization of events for junior researchers.
• Supporting career development of junior researchers (Ph.D. students and postdocs) to secure relevant and competitive skill set for a successful career in academia as well as industry on the global level.
• Facilitating of mentoring and knowledge sharing activities at CEITEC.
• Furthermore, promotion of the CEITEC Ph.D. school in Life Science and Molecular Medicine.

Required skills and qualifications

• University degree in any field (pedagogical or psychological focus is an advantage)
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Must be open mind, curiosity, active and innovative access, independence, creative thinking. Also, should be an excellent team player with the ability to effectively connect information and collaborate.
• Great knowledge of Czech and English language. Also, the ability to use a computer.
• Furthermore, the willingness to educate her/himself.
