About position

As a Research Associate, you will work in a project funded Leverhulme Foundation. The project is about the study of the psychology of Bilingualism. You will be contributing to resolving the issue via experimental studies which dynamically track an individual’s responses to particular tasks which require cognitive control, and you also explore a variety of different aspects of cognitive control

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Using initiative and creativity to analyze and interpret research data and draw conclusions on the outcomes
  • Co-ordinating own work with that of others, deal with problems which may affect the achievement of research objectives and contribute to the planning of the project
  •  Presenting information on research progress and outcomes to groups overseeing the research project and in wider School-based fora such as research seminars
  • Writing up results from own research activity
  • Contributing the research project’s dissemination, in whatever form (report, papers, chapters, book, conference posters, and presentations) are encouraged

Requirements and Qualifications

  • University degree in psychology or a closely related discipline
  • Grounding in cognitive psychology
  • Experience in the design, execution, and analysis of quantitative experimental research
  • Broad background in statistical analysis and research methods
  • Excellent English skills: Writing as well as oral
    • Excellent time management skills and teamwork skills
