The University of Basel invites candidates to the opening of research related job in the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH). The Swiss TPH is seeking a dynamic, energetic, motivated and highly qualified Lead Clinical Research Associate to join the Clinical Operations Unit. This is the unique opportunity for a candidate to join a multicultural, dedicated team, working in a stimulating academic environment with in-depth scientific expertise in the field of poverty-related diseases.

Responsibilities 

Generally, the position holder will assist the department in set-up clinical trials (phase I to phase IV) and coordinate and conduct monitoring activities. In addition to that, the position holder will be performing the following tasks

  • Doing clinical trial monitoring.
  • Coordinating and performing clinical trial site visits in resource-limited countries.
  • Develop monitoring strategies together with the project lead.
  • Similarly, developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with investigational sites and clients.
  • Supervising a team of local monitors as well as supporting project management.
  • Furthermore, managing study documentation.

Requirements 

  • Substantial experience in regulatory clinical trial monitoring (minimum 3 years) as well as interest in tropical diseases.
  • Experience in monitoring phase 1 clinical trials is an asset as well as good knowledge of ICH-GCP and relevant regulations
  • Fluent in French and English, both spoken and written (German as an asset).
  • Flexibility & willingness to travel up to 20% to resource-limited countries.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Similarly, a precise working style and the ability to work independently.
  • Furthermore, experience in remote monitoring, demonstrated leadership, and management skills are an asset.
