Position: Postdoctoral researcher in Sociology at the Department of Sociology

Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral researcher will have an interest in cultural sociology, and specifically, in the rise of global economic elites and their impact on cultural fields.

In particular, s/he will be doing the following duties

  • Conducting empirical research, writing academic articles and a monograph.
  • Cooperating with other team members in developing & executing the research.
  • Participating in conferences and seminars.
  • Assisting in the supervision of Ph.D. candidates in the project.
  • Furthermore, performing other duties if needed.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Sociology or another relevant sub-discipline of Social Sciences or Humanities. In addition to that, affinity with the cultural field.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals or with established academic publishers.
  • Extensive experience with empirical research.
  • Excellent command of English.
  • Moreover, relevant language skills pertaining to the project countries will be considered as an advantage.
