About position

The university is seeking creative and caliber nursing graduate for a research project. The position holder position will work in our Clinical Research Center (TOID) Transplant and Oncology Infectious Disease. Here are the key duties that the incumbent will perform

  • Manage day to day scientific implementation and operation of multiple clinical research studies and trials, and additionally, monitoring protocol compliance, patient toxicities, and adverse events.
  • Determine patient study eligibility, obtain informed consent, and also, initiate patient randomization and enrollment.
  • Under the direction of physician principal investigators, order research medicines from the investigational drug pharmacy and submit orders to obtain clinical research samples.
  • Conduct study visits with research subjects, performing routine physical examinations and obtaining vital signs as directed by research protocols.
  • Develop tools for study implementation including source data documents, standardized order sheets, study reference materials, and nursing summaries. Also, act as a liaison for studies with health care teams, other institutions, drug companies, study monitors, study subjects and their primary care providers.
  • Compile as well as present status reports to PIs, contract research organizations, nursing and clinic staff, and physicians.
  • Assist outside monitors during study review visits.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and set regulatory and safety policies for the program. Similarly, participating in 24-hour on-call and weekend program coverage responsibilities.

Required qualifications and skills

  • University Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Additionally, must be a Registered Nurse to practice nursing professionally.
  • Working knowledge of hospital clinical research; transplant/oncology/ID patients is desirable. Also, someone from nursing research background is preferred.
  •  Strong communication skills (verbal as well as written).
