About Masaryk University

Following, the university owns and operates the Mendel Polar Station in Antarctica. Moreover, the station facilitates basic biological, geological and climatological research. The station was built in 2005 and 2006 and is staffed during Antarctic summers

About position

The Director of Central European Institute of Technology – Masaryk University (CEITEC MU) is accepting applications for the position of the research project manager.

In particular, a research project manager who will perform the following duties

  • Management and coordination of project proposal preparation, proposal writing, support with budget preparation
  • Also, searching for an active creation of opportunities for project submission, especially international collaborative projects in the area of life sciences.
  • Information service for researchers as well as participation in training, workshops, and information days about research grants.

Requirements

  • High school/University education. In addition to that, experience in project management or administration, especially in an international environment desirable (but not required).
  • Similarly, experience with research in the field of life sciences desirable (but not required).
  • Pro-active approach, excellent communication skills, ability to negotiate in a multicultural environment, organization skills.
  • A systemic and responsible approach to work, ability to follow and enforce strict deadlines.
  • Advanced level of English (spoken and written )language, as well as good knowledge of spoken and written Czech language, is needed.
  • Furthermore, good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
