Senior Lecturer Jobs at Leeds Arts University, The Leeds Arts University of United Kingdom is seeking a highly qualified senior lecturer to teach – BA (Hons) Comic & Concept Art in the University.

Roles and responsibilities

  • provide and deliver a high-quality learning experience to students on the course(s) on which you are teaching,
  • act as a module leader where required. This role has responsibility for the leadership and management of designated modules in liaison with Course Leaders and Programme Directors,
  • build links with appropriate organizations nationally and internationally, including creative businesses and facilitate work experience where appropriate and visits appropriate to the curriculum,
  • ensure that University procedures around students, student support and course management are followed,
  • assist the Course Leader in the management of the course including organizing and timetabling appropriate staff for each module,
  • help plan, design, deliver and organize the BA (Hons) Comic & Concept Arts degree course,
  • take particular responsibility for one year of the course as a Year Tutor
  • act as a Module Leader responsible for the quality and enhancement of the learning experiences within specific modules
  • manage any budgets allocated by the Course Leader within an expenditure profile agreed in advance following the University’s Financial Regulations and Procedures

Required Qualifications

  • A university master’s degree in a relevant field. Ph.D. is desirable
  • Knowledge of high-level drawing and concept visualization skills
  • 2D/3D digital skills and digital workflows for pre-production and production
  • Knowledge of methods of integrating theory, practice and professionalism
  • Expertise as a contemporary practitioner in Comic Art, Concept Art and/or related design disciplines
  • Proven Knowledge of a range of career paths and relevant industry contacts relating to Comic and/or Concept Art including broader professional applications
  • Good Verbal and Written communication skills
  • Previous teaching experience in higher education institutions
