About position

The Department of Management at Deakin Business School welcomes eligible candidates to apply for the position of Lecturer in Sport Management. The successful candidate you will contribute to the Department’s teaching programs at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. In addition, s/he will also be undertaking and publishing research in an area relevant to the Sport Management discipline.

In particular, the incumbent will do the following duties

  • Teach program offered by the Department at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels including supervision of students at honors and/or doctoral level.
  • Produce high-quality research in journals of national and international standing including a contribution to the department’s research agenda and strong performance in Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA)
  • Partake in activities which enhance the profile and reputation of the discipline
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant research, community, industry, government and professional partners to establish collaborations and industry partnerships.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. (or be working towards completion) in an area of relevance to Sport Management. In addition to that, a research profile including publications in high-quality journals.
  • Experience teaching relevant units/courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels including supervision of honors and/or higher degree by research students.
  • Some evidence of success in obtaining competitive research funding.
  • Existing relationships and an ability to further enhance engagement with external bodies to enhance the national and international standing of the discipline.
