UNDP Coordination Specialist at Amman, Jordan.
UNDP Coordination Specialist position will undertake comprehensive research and analysis to support decision-making and address relevant issues.
Duties and Responsibilities for Coordination Specialist
Support Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements
Supports the operations and coordination of related to planning and implementation of ceasefire and transitional security arrangements, including dialogue and consultation processes with a focus on the Military Coordination Committee (MCC).
Prepares substantive talking points for senior staff, and related input for reports, and security council briefing inputs related to the efforts of the MCC.
Actively prepares options on achieving inclusion, to ensure that the ceasefire mechanism includes broad participation from Yemeni society.
Substantive Preparations and Event Organization
Supports the substantive preparations of the MCC through the preparation of talking-points, options on ceasefire and transitional security arrangements, and process design strategy.
Provides substantive and planning support to the organization of other ceasefire-related meetings, seminars, and other events including by proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparing documents, and presentations.
Research and Analysis
Organizes and/or undertakes research on various aspects of ceasefire arrangements; analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
Identifies problems and issues to be assessed and proposes corrective actions and/or a way forward.
Provide monthly synthesis of any research/analysis on ceasefire arrangements and preparations.
Produce a report with recommendation for future initiatives that the PSF could undertake in support of the ceasefire and peacebuilding.
Performs any other assigned duties.
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in political science, social sciences, defense-security, management, international economics, international relations, law, development or a related field.
OR
A first-level university degree (Bachelors) in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the Masters degree.
Experience:
5 years (with Master’s degree) or 7 years (with bachelor’s degree) progressively responsible experience in security sector reform or a similar field is required.
Experience in coordination and political engagement with national stakeholders in a conflict setting is required.
Experience in working on issues of inclusion, WPS or similar issues is required.
Experience working in the Middle East is required.
Experience of analysis and policy advisory is an asset.
Experience working for or with the UN is asset.
Language:
Proficiency in oral and written English Language is required.
