Duties
- Applies advanced strategic concepts in planning, organizing, supervising, and/or performs high-level planning services to the VPAP and campus and/or University-wide administrative officers and planning staff engaged in academic space projects.
- Additionally, the candidate provides long-range strategic space planning for the campus in alignment with the campus mission and financial objectives.
- Evaluates space utilization based on existing State and University guidelines.
- Also, collaborates in the development of campus space and surge plans incorporating UCOP mandates, enrollment trends, departmental reviews, and other relevant metrics.
- Likewise, leads projects and programs to encourage/incentivize efficient utilization of campus space.
- Develops and administers campus space policies.
- Also, assists departments in developing local space management models and policies.
- Represents the VPAP in the space allocation decision-making process.
- Furthermore, conducts space audits, provides expert analyses regarding space utilization, space move scenarios, and collaborates closely with campus partners to coordinate, implement, and complete space moves.
- Additionally, collaborates in the management of the ongoing maintenance of building space data and the system that supports them.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge/skills in city planning, architecture, or other planning-related fields.
- Also, advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including advanced political acumen.
- Additionally, analytical and project management skills.
- Furthermore, knowledge of or ability to learn the campus, including its architectural history, short and long range development plans, infrastructure and current, on-going and future design and construction plans.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
Salary & Benefits
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $83,900.00 – $120,000.00.
