Job Overview

The candidate will be working with personnel in other departments within the College and the System to review and follow up on issues involving invoices, and ensure that expenditures fall within purchasing guidelines. When system software upgrades, he/she will participate in the process, and interact with internal and external auditors as well as funding agencies. Additionally, the incumbent will also involve in year-end closings and the 1099 process.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field with at least 18 hours of Accounting required. Also,  the University may substitute eight (8) years directly related work experience in lieu of degree.

Experience
Three (3) years of experience in an accounting-related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of state reporting requirements
• Also, good communication and interpersonal skills
• Additionally, a thorough working knowledge of the application of general accounting principles
• Likewise, knowledge of external and internal financial auditing procedures
• Knowledge of PC, MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Access
• Furthermore,  the candidate should have a working knowledge of PeopleSoft.
