Responsibilities:

The Chair will facilitate scholarly activity by 1) facilitating the identification of research topics critical to rural schools and communities; 2) support doctoral candidates to conduct research specifically on the research topics identified; 3) advance their collaborative contributions to and oversight of the research conducted by candidates in the program; and 4) disseminate the research findings back to the rural school community and beyond. This mechanism will result in regionally responsive, research-based solutions to the challenges facing rural schools and communities; thereby advancing the mission of WTAMU and vision of WT 125.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Ed.D. (Doctorate in Curriculum/Instruction; Educational Leadership; or Related Field).
• Additionally, Texas teaching or administration certificate or eligible for Texas certification.
• Also, 3 years or more of teaching/administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nationally recruited an outstanding faculty with professional competencies and capacities to fulfill the roles, responsibilities, and meet the outlined objectives as Chair.
