The applications for the post of Assistant Director at Ringling College of Art and Design have opened.

  • The Assistant Director for Career Engagement will work with students, employers, staff, faculty, and alumni in developing client-centered career counseling.
  • Additionally, the incumbent will also implement initiatives and strategies for successful advising.
  • Also. including engagements for students and graduates, assistance with growing recruiting efforts, and working with the Director on initiatives for the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) Committee that enhance students’ internship and practical and professional training and engagements through experiential learning.

Qualifications

The Assistant Director at Ringling College of Art and Design must have the following qualifications

  • He/she must possess a Master’s degree and prior successful, related professional higher education administration and career counseling and program management and development experience.
  • Also, the incumbent must have a proven track record in college-level career counseling and program experience.

Preferred Qualification

  • He/she should have successful student services experience in higher education.

Responsibilities

The incumbent will have the following responsibilities

  • He/she will represent Ringling College of Art and Design in campus activities, community events, and organizations that further the development of career, employment, and QEP options for students.
  • Also, the scope of the job may involve some travel and attendance at evening and/or weekend activities, events, meetings, etc.
  • The successful candidate will have knowledge of career counseling principles, theory, and practices.
  • He/she must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and time-management skill
  • Additionally, he/she should have a high level of interpersonal and human relations skills with the ability to interact appropriately with a wide variety of personality types and professionals.
  • Also,  he/she needs to demonstrate in-depth and ongoing sensitivity towards diversity, which includes but is not limited to racial/ethnic differences, learning differences, and the LGBTQ community.
  • The successful candidate will have knowledge of FERPA guidelines and requirements
  • Also, he/she will be familiar with international visa status, work permits and other career data needed for international students
  • Furthermore, the candidate will have the ability to use career assessment instruments and computerized career guidance systems such as the Strong Interest Inventory and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as well as the ability to create and execute professional presentations.
