Job Title: Assistant Professor in Digital Persuasion

The Department of Communication Studies in the School of Communication at Emerson College seeks a tenure track faculty member in the area of Digital Persuasion to join the department at the Boston campus. Additionally, this is a full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank. The appointment will begin in January 2021 or on August 19, 2021.

Duties

As a member of the department, the candidate will advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, which can include advising student organizations. Similarly, supporting the theory-practice mission of the Department of Communication Studies, the candidate will have the opportunity to engage in experiential learning opportunities such as Emerson DC, Emerson Los Angeles, and a myriad of international programs, such as global pathways courses and semester-long study abroad opportunities.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Assistant Professor

Candidates must have completed a terminal degree in communication or a relevant discipline by the time of hire. Additionally, successful candidates must also demonstrate the potential for productive scholarly research agenda.

Also, the successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to sustain an active research program. Likewise, provide evidence of successful teaching. Also, show the ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and staff from diverse backgrounds with a strong commitment to inclusion and social justice.
