Duties
- Under limited supervision, the purpose of the job is to provide and oversee a diverse range of coordination and support activities for the Department of Safety, Security & Emergency Preparedness, which requires specialized knowledge and comprehensive administrative, organizational, and operational skills.
- Furthermore, this individual will establish, develop, and coordinate the institution’s Clery Act Compliance programs at all Broward College locations while serving and acting as the institution’s Clery Compliance Officer.
- Additionally, serves as the Accreditation Manager regarding the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) while equally working to establish, develop, and coordinate department operational directives and standards.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, criminal justice, emergency management or closely related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Management or Security experience in Higher Education a plus.
- Additionally, the University will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- The University prefers experience complying with the requirements of the Clery Act.
Knowledge
- Knowledge in accounting and financial management; budgeting; customer service and communication skills; experience with Microsoft Office Applications; web design and web management knowledge; general understanding of the College’s structure, policies, and practices (knowledge on how those might affect safety, security, and emergency management a plus)
- Also, the incumbent should have expertise in understanding and following plans, including the coordination of multiple resources and activities.
