Job Summary

The role of the Enrollment Advisor is to take new or readmitted students from initial contact to admission and registration while assisting and motivating them through the process and system requirements that will grant them the opportunity to achieve their educational and career goals. Additionally, they are responsible for advising and enrolling new students for all programs using appropriate strategies. In addition, they provide students excellent customer service focused on enhancing the students’ overall experience at CityU.

Duties

Recruitment of New Students

  • Initiates new student contacts through organized contact strategies via the phone, email, and in-person in collaboration with Recruitment, Student Success, Marketing, and Academic Affairs team members, which includes public information sessions or other outreach and business development events.
  • Additionally,  the incumbent responds to new student inquiries and transfers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Meets with prospective new students and provides admissions advising using an organized interview procedure.
  • Furthermore, organizes admissions file for each prospective student including application, reference letters, and any supplemental materials required for each academic program in preparation for review by an academic team
  • Also,  he/she generates new student referrals.
  • Likewise, conducts regular and timely follow-up activities for lead inquiries.
  • Also, the incumbent documents all student interactions in CRM On Demand.

2. Admission of New Students

  • Assists prospective students with the application process following outlined University policies and procedures for all new student paperwork processing.  Effectively addresses student concerns to ensure that all students are aware of their options and financial/academic obligations to their program of choice.
  • Participates in specialized and program-specific Admissions/Interviewing processes as appropriate and when applicable.

3. Retention and Support of New Students

  • Document all activities in CRM On Demand.
  • Creates and maintains a new student record in PeopleSoft.  Maintains up-to-date record keeping for all assigned new students and utilizes specifics to pro-actively communicate with students.
  • Acts as a liaison for the new student with other University departments, advocates on behalf of the student to resolve any new student issues.
  • Regularly reports student concerns to appropriate University departments or personnel.
  • Additionally,  he/she assists students with initial new course registration and related procedures.
  • Supports business office activities such as cashiering, banking, and payment plan administration as assigned and appropriate.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Enrollment Advisor

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Also, 2-4 years sales or admissions/enrollment experience
  • Must demonstrate a high level of customer service; attention to detail; and organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through ability.
  • Likewise, excellent interpersonal, as well as written and oral communication skills, required.  Ability to receive, interpret, and then communicate complex information in an understandable format.
  • Additionally, the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task, and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Also, demonstrated experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
