Responsibilities

The incumbent will do the following duties

  • Represent West Coast Global Learner Support in Bay Area, including planning/delivering workshops, leading English language tutorials, teaching listening & speaking classes, organizing/leading cultural programming, and recruiting staff and student volunteers to lead workshops.
  • Additionally,  Collaborate and communicate regularly with San Francisco-Bay Area staff, ESL tutors, and the Assistant Director of West Coast Global Learner Support.

Qualifications

The incumbent should meet the following responsibilities for the Vacancy for Global Learner Support Specialist

  • Master’s degree preferred and at least 2 – 4 years of experience providing student support to students in a higher education setting.
  • Additionally, demonstrated experience working with international students and second language learners with a sensitivity to their distinct needs.
  • Also, English as a Second Language teaching experience required. Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal communication is necessary.
  • Furthermore, Computer skills and experience in working with databases is necessary.
  • Also, excellent skills in relationship building, professional presentation, and customer service are necessary.
  • Moreover, he/she should have the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously, take initiative, follow through with projects, and work as an integral member of a team is necessary.
