Duties
- Provide direct primary care for eligible patients, appropriate to the needs of a diverse and multicultural college student population, including diagnosis, referral for consultation or specialty services, follow-up care, evening/urgent care, and on-call emergency consultation.
- Also, provide direct supervision, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of health services staff who support the day-to-day provision of the clinical medical care and services for matriculated, pre-college, and summer studies students.
- Likewise, develop and maintain strong relationships with the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services and the Director of Public Safety as well as other internal members of the college. Foster and nurture strong external relationships with local hospitals, colleges, and universities, and the Tri-State consortium to ensure continuity of care is coordinated for clients.
- Furthermore, ensure that all state and federal guidelines are upheld, and best practices are followed.
- Likewise, possess a strong awareness of current legislative issues. Also, how they affect a campus community, including pre-college (high school students) and summer studies students.
- Also, interpret legislative requirements into actionable plans appropriate for RISD.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree required in nursing, public health, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Also, a minimum of seven (7) years in a health services environment with strong leadership experience.
- Likewise, prior experience as a Nurse Practitioner or health-related clinician, preferably in a College Health Center.
- Also, the current valid RI Nursing License or ability to obtain license within orientation and review period.
- Prior experience using an EMR system, preferably Medicat.
- Moreover, the candidate must possess knowledge of best standards of practice
- Solid understanding of HIPPA, FERPA, the Clery Act, and Title IX and sexual assault federal regulations.
- Similarly, strong knowledge of holistic preventative health principles.
- Also, the ability to work cooperatively with, have an understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse community with a large international population.
