Duties

• Provide for 24/7 support, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair/fixes for telecommunications, network, and other information system problems. Provide 3rd Tier high-level support for information systems.
• Also, analyze existing or proposed college data, telecommunication, and network systems. Provide technical guidance and direction in all areas of technology including specification, design, technology selection, testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Similarly, supervise network/server and telecommunication activities. Oversee the work of network team members as a working supervisor to assure compliance with department policies, procedures, industry standards, and best practices.
• Additionally, develop network telecommunication, hardware and software solutions in line with user needs, and present new systems and solutions to administration and prepare system proposals for the user and administration review.
• Likewise, implement College approved security solutions, procedures, and design principles. Monitor network security; implement password changes and additional security measures to meet audit requirements.
• Also, establish and enforce College approved networking standards.
• Additionally, assist other areas of information technology with design, implementation, and support of hardware, software systems, and projects.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Network Engineer at Polk State College

• Requires the ability to work independently on broader assignments with the responsibility for the planning of work. Makes decisions within accepted standards.
• Additionally, the ability to work cooperatively with college personnel.
• Likewise, excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication.
• Additionally, knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems, applications, and databases. Experience with Microsoft clients, Microsoft Servers. Certifications

• CCNA Certification is Required
• Additionally, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification is Required
• Also, CCNP and/or CCVP and MSCE or equivalent certifications are preferred.

Required Education

• Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking or Information Technology (or related) degree.

Required Experience

• A minimum of six (6) years of Information Technology work experience.
