Duties
The incumbent will have the following duties
- Responsible for the monitoring and operations of high pressure gas and oil fired super-heated boilers along with steam turbine and gas turbine generators, including all auxiliary and supporting equipment.
- Also, start-up, synchronize, load and unload electrical generators.
- Perform periodic rounds of inspection for the power plant, checking for the proper function of equipment.
- Likewise, test and maintain boiler water chemistry as prescribed by the plant chemist guidelines.
- Also, primary responsibility of directly operating and maintaining all equipment within the plant in a safe, reliable and efficient manner and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, Central Power Plant (CPP) policies and procedures.
- Perform responsibilities and assigned duties as a member of a watch standing team.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on power plant systems (including all plant auxiliary systems) and ensures their safe, proper and efficient operation.
- Additionally, ancillary duties include writing and reviewing procedures, on-the-job and classroom training and root cause analysis investigations
Qualifications for Vacancy for Powerhouse Operator
- Necessary qualifications include but are not limited to a high school diploma or a trade school equivalent.
- Also, knowledge and understanding of mathematics in the industrial environment
- Also, at least 2 years of maritime or powerhouse experience with super-heated boiler, gas turbine generator and steam turbine generator operations.
- Considerable mechanical aptitude.
- Also, thorough knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
- Similarly, considerable knowledge of the operation and maintenance requirements of high-pressure boilers, turbines, generators and related equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of the equipment, methods, and materials used in high-pressure boilers along with steam and combustion generators.
- Additionally, the ability to maintain and prepare routine operations records and reports.
- Likewise, the ability to exercise tact and discretion in relationships with others.
