Job Summary

The Department of Public Health Science, Division of Health Informatics at the University of California, Davis, is seeking (1) 50-100% Project Scientist. The purpose of this position is to make significant creative contributions to the research or creative projects associated with consumer health informatics. The Project Scientist makes significant and creative contributions to a research or creative project in his/her academic discipline.

The appointee possesses the subject matter expertise and the creative energy necessary to function at a high level of competence. The appointee will participate in activities to increase, improve, or upgrade competency. Appointees with Project (e.g., Scientist) titles may engage in University and public service. They do not have teaching responsibilities.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Ph.D. in Health Informatics, Nursing, Public Health or related field
• Additionally, completion of postdoctoral appointment in the area of specialization, as applicable, or substantial professional experience in clinical informatics or consumer health informatics.
• Also, a history of participation in extramurally funded informatics research
• Likewise, the experience of clinical informatics within an academic health system.

Preferred

• Demonstrated ability to write scientific reports and has successfully published research findings in high impact factor journals.
• Also, demonstrated technical competency in a variety of qualitative and quantitative research techniques and protocols.
• Additionally, clinical training as evidenced by professional degree, e.g., MD or BSN/RN
